On this date: Tuesday October 31, 1961 – Nature Boy Buddy Rogers successfully defended his National Wrestling Alliance Worlds Heavy Weight Championship against the challenge of Duke Keomuka (Hisao Tanaka) at the legendary Sportatorium in Dallas, Texas.

Included in the photo a ticket for the event at the Sportatorium.

On This Date: October 30, 1962 Nature Boy Buddy Rogers Defeated Bobo Brazil in World Title Rematch

On This Date: October 30, 1962 in Toledo, Ohio Nature Boy Buddy Rogers defeated Bobo Brazil to regain his World Championship. When these two faced for the title on August 18, 1962 Bobo had been declared the victor after the match was stopped due to Rogers injury. Bobo would not accept the title nor was either title change recognized officially by the NWA. This rematch settled the score and Rogers continued his reign as NWA World heavyweight Champion.

On This Date: October 30, 1961 – NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nature Boy Buddy Rogers came to Fort Worth Texas to defend his championship against the challenge of Iron Mike DiBiase at the North Side Coliseum.

Sports News – Wrestling program with an article advertising this big matchup. According to Rogers when he learned his opponent for the match. “They always give me the toughest… but of course that’s the way I like em!”

In the semi-main was Sputnik Monroe against Sam Steamboat.
